J. Bloom

Today, finally managed to get myself to an Arts and Media talk provided by the art college and well it would have been good if we did not depend on the (lack of) power of powerpoint in presentations. The number of ruined presentations of peoples work (art students and artists) and lecturers I have been to over the past few years - it is so frustrating and today's talk was no exception. Poor Mr Bloom and powerpoints painfully poor performance. Nonetheless, I was very intrigued to here about his work and concepts.

Here's some of the wonderful things he showed us;

John Smith: Om
(1986) 4 mins. Colour. Sound. 16mm.

Bruce Nauman: "Stamping in the Studio"
(1968)

Martin Creed: "Ballet Work No 1020"
(2010)

"A conceptual artist is nothing but a failed comedian"

"The more of me in the work - the less interesting"

Jaygo Bloom: PACMAN OUROBOROS from NEWFUTURENOW on Vimeo.
